ANGELOLOGY
written by: Wieslaw W Falkowski

angels
arise from the sweat of all saints
working in the campaign
advertising the only God
every morning
new angels come out of the river
they hold their hands
weary of hunched predators
alighting on park benches
in disguise sprinkling ashes
on the heads of new-born generations
all the time
timid angels like grey pigeons
with black and red legs
collect crumbs of bread
baked daily
according to Lidl’s recipe
then each angel praises God
for one and only time
and goes away
becoming a body for the soul
earth to heaven
a woman for a man
losing their wings
returning to the current of the river
in which the water flows as rapidly as time
from the very beginning
to the very end
